About Patrick De Boever
Patrick De Boever is a strategic innovation and R&D professional with more than 20 years of experience in research, healthcare, life sciences, innovation and valorisation. He has built his career at the intersection of knowledge institutions, hospitals, companies and governments, with a strong focus on translating expertise into strategy, collaboration, funding and societal impact.
He is affiliated part-time with Hasselt University, with a focus on research strategy, strategic funding, valorisation roadmaps and education. Until February 2026, he was director of research, innovation and valorisation at Antwerp University Hospital, where he was responsible for supporting clinical research, innovation development, external collaborations, increasing funding and valorisation trajectories.
Previously, Patrick worked as senior innovation manager at 3BIO, as business developer at UHasselt, as research and innovation manager at the University of Antwerp and in various R&D roles at VITO and SCK-CEN. In these positions, he gained experience in research management, business development, innovation programmes, partnerships and the translation of knowledge into applications with societal and economic value.
